We woke up early this morning, about 6 am. Very calm weather and a great sunrise.
We read for a bit, and then had breakfast and did our devotions.
Following which we discussed what to do next. Options we discussed:
- Whether or not to go straight to San Felipe or Puerto Peñasco
- Reasons to do this, if we are not going to see anybody anyway, we could at least have internet and access to stores etc.
- Whether to do it directly (no) or go with one or two days at each port instead (yes)
After lunch, we took a spin in the dinghy, mainly to get Renee’ some time driving the dinghy so she knows the basics at least on how to use it. We also swung by the new boat at anchor S/V Inia, with Christina and Michael, they are French, and the boat is a Ketch 55 -58 feet long.
Later, Renee’ sent an email too Salvador in PUERTO PEñASCO asking about how things are going, and if there are openings still for us. He responded with the information and his phone number. Renee’ called and asked about the phone number for the Fonatur Marina. She then called there and got the information. Basically it comes down to there is a quarantine period once we enter PUERTO PEñASCO, there are slips available at Fonatur, the price is 6 pesos per foot (at about 24 pesos to the dollar, that means our price will be about $12 a day US, there may be a break on a weekly rate. We will probably head up that way with a plan to get there with a couple of weeks to spare for the haul out date of May 11, that way our quarantine will be done before we get hauled out.
We do have room for guests, if anyone is interested in visiting and spending a week or so with us, drop us a line and we will coordinate. What you have to do/have is you need a sport and will need to be able to get to where we are when you are going to be down. When we know what time frame you are thinking about we can let you know where we expect to be so that you can make your travel arrangements.
