We continued across the sea. We saw a few more dolphin and lots of birds. As we approached Baja, we saw a few large cargo and tanker ships and quite a few pleasure boats, but none very close to us. Overall a fairly uneventful crossing. Even so, this not one we are likely to do ever again.
We anchored at Los Muertos in about 25 feet of water at about 11 am. About 52.5 hours underway, well over 300 miles by the chart plotter calculation. There are 5 sailboats and 1 motoryacht at anchor here. After showers and lunch, we will put the dinghy down and go ashore.
I was already up, and as Reneé and Bob came on deck we had breakfast and shifted around who was napping. I saw a seal, and we saw more dolphins. Again, we did our devotions, and had lunch and dinner on deck.
I worked on pictures for blog today. I have the text for November 10 through the 29th written, and now I have the pictures from the 10 th to the 23 rd ready to upload. We have had a busy month. I will get the rest of the pictures ready in a day or two.

Up at 6 am, underway by 6:30 am, underway at 7 am. Breakfast and bible reading and motor sailing all day. This will be our biggest crossing ever, about 295 miles. We expect to take about 48 hours. The weather forecast is fairly calm all the way across. We saw whales, dolphin and lots of birds. Almost no other boats. All in all a pretty boring day. Lunch was had on deck, as was dinner and breakfast.
After dinner, we took shifts, with either Reneé or I on deck and part of each watch Bob was there to keep that one company. In the evening there was once again, just another sunset, and in the morning just another sunrise.
Up at 6 am, (the sun was up) after breakfast (and coffee), we listened to a sermon from North Coast. We have looked at the weather and the distances involved and the timing of our trip to get to Puerto Peñasco, the decision we made is that instead of going from here to Mazatlan then to Los Muertos we will go directly to Los Muertos. The difference in distance is only 15 miles, but the difference in time is about 3 days.
To go to Mazatlan first (125 miles), would be an overnight trip with a two day recovery without going ashore in Mazatlan, then an overnight trip to Los Muertos (185 miles) on the Baja peninsula.
Instead we will go to Los Muertos directly from here (295 miles). At 6 knots, the trip to Mazatlan (21 hours), then to Los Muertos (31 hours), or directly to Los Muertos (49 hours). This will be a long hard trip of a couple of nights crossing the longest Reneé and I have done.
Dave Bobo from SV Ohana joined Bob and I for the jungle cruise. Bob and I got the dinghy down, and went over and got Dave then ashore to get lunch at a restaurants. No one there spoke English and none of us spoke Spanish and there was no internet so, communications were limited. Eventually, we got our points across and one of them gave us a ride (since we could not figure out how to communicate the directions (either us or them) it was only a half mile or so to the pick up point. Eventually we got on the little boat and did the tour.
It was a good trip. We saw quite a few crocs in the wild and a few in the zoo at the end. Finally back to the boat.
Bob and I got the dinghy put away and the outboard back on it’s holder. Excitement for the day, it looks like MAYBE the dinghy wheel racks on the dinghy might be upside down, or maybe I was just wrong in how I was trying to use them.
Reneé made fish taco’s for dinner and they were very good, then showers and bed.

Up at 6:30, and underway by 7am. Breakfast underway (for those of us not sea sick) we motored the whole way, we got the sails out and helped, but there was not enough wind to do it all. We got as high as 8.0 knots. Once we were anchored (in 10 feet of water!) we got out the floaty’s and got in the water. Bob got the patch to work and was feeling a lot better for the last half of the trip. We are going to watch a movie tonight, then tomorrow morning a sermon. After lunch, Bob and I will go ashore and see the Jungle Tour (a boat ride with Crocodiles). Today we saw at least 3 pods of whales, and quite a few dolphin. Tonight we are anchored with SV Hona Kai and SV Ohana, completely coincidental.
We are going to watch “Planes Trains and Automobiles” tonight.
