Up at 6:30, bible reading, breakfast and snorkeling. The is the order of the day.
We got the dinghy down and went to some rocks to snorkel. Unfortunately, my snorkel is missing a part, so oh well. Reneé got some in. We have a ladder for getting back into the dinghy from the water, first time we have used it. Dave from Iowa used it when I took him out in Yelapa, but it was our first time. It worked well.
We got showers, which meant running the generator to heat the water. The battery was fully charged before we started the generator so, it was only for hot water.

Up at 6:30, breakfast, bible reading, and thinking about what we have to do in the marina and the yard.
Reneé polished some stainless, then thought she saw a whale shark and wanted to snorkel over to see it closer. Whale sharks are really big sharks, and unlike most other sharks they eat plankton and small fish.

The whale shark is a slow-moving, filter-feeding carpet shark and the largest known extant fish species. The largest confirmed individual had a length of 18.8 m. The whale shark holds many records for size in the animal kingdom, most notably being by far the most massive living non-cetacean animal. Wikipedia

in any case we got the dinghy down and rowed over to where she thought it was. No whale shark. Oh well.

Later after lunch we floated for a bit behind the. We have two inflatable floats. We left the better ones in Peñasco.
We ended the day with bbq and then a movie.
The battery was about 95% charged by the end of the day.

No pictures today

Up at 3:30, underway by 4 am. Breakfast and bible reading underway. Virtually no wind all the way across, highest was about 7 knots. Very quiet trip. We only saw a couple of fishing boats and one sailboat in the first 65 miles. We will see what we see as we finish the 75 miles. Well we didn’t see another boat until we were about 5 miles from the end of our journey.
We wanted to anchor in Martini Cove, but it’s very small and there was a couple of boats there already. Oh well, we headed back a few miles to where we ended up (see the pictures). While I was working on getting the anchor ready, my hat got caught in the wind and flipped into the water. We were able to get one more man overboard drill in! We were successful and the hat is drying out now.
We anchored in Lalo Cove a couple of miles from the marina.
It was a very quiet day.

Up at 6:30 or so. Breakfast, bible reading a trip to the store and preparing to get underway tomorrow.
Renee’ told the office we were done with shore power and I got us unplugged, that way we can pay our bill today. Shore power off, bilge rinsed, hose and cords put away. Garbage off the boat. Pulled pork on the stove for dinner and future meals. We got showers before turning off the power, so we would have hot water to wash the dishes. We have to have AC power (either shore power or run the generator) or run the engine to heat the hot water tank. Our friends that have been here for the last week mostly have left for points north or south, but another boat friend arrived this afternoon, SV Soulmate with Lisa and Patrick. We will have a beer with them at the micro brewery and afterwards come back to the boat and turn in early. Tomorrow we get underway by 4 am, as it is abut 75 miles across. Roughly 12 hours, and we like to have a little extra time in case of issues.
We will not have much wind, so it will be a motor trip, and no moon light as it comes up after the sun and we get there before sunset. The marina is very well lit up at night, so getting out should not be a problem.

Up at 6 am, breakfast, then Reneé contacted the laundry lady and found out that we either get it done today or don’t as she is closed tomorrow. So, we got our stuff organized and she went to the place to get Tamales. They are usually sold out by 10 when she has been there before. I waked the laundry up to the parking lot at 9. We are waiting for water delivery today as well. I cleaned the strainers today, they did not really need it, but it doesn’t take much time to do it.
I went through the list of things to do before leaving the boat and upon return. This list is pretty long, I have it as a checklist on my notes. This way when I complete something it gets checked off and moves to the bottom of the list.
We had 600 liters of drinking water delivered to the boat (about 158,5 gallons). We use about 12 gallons per day, we last filled up on 5/14, so 14 days at 12 gallons should have been 168 gallons. We did not overfill the tank, but should be good for another two weeks at least. We have 14 days left until we move off the boat (the last week will be in the San Carlos Marina and should have water to be able to run the water maker with dock water and top off the tank anyway, so we are in really good shape for water.

This picture shows the motor catamaran at the end tie, the red arrow points at our boat, yes you can barely see ours. That catamaran is called Double wide and it is HUGE! One man lives aboard and that is his boat to go where he wants.
