Up at 6 am or so for me, about 8 for Reneé. She really slept in today! After breakfast and the net, I traced out the wires for the depth sounder. We are going to relocate it later this week when the boat is hauled out. This will require putting it in the bottom of the boat through a hole, so I will have to pull the wire out and install the transducer from the bottom of the boat and rerun the wire. At the same time we will remove the speed sensor and put in the new one (a larger diameter means a bigger hole). That took me until about noon.

On the net this morning, I asked if anyone had some Cat 5 net work cable, so I could practice making ends before I cut our starlink cable. The first person that responded later called me back and said, OOPs! I put it “away” and can’t find it. So, after lunch I went over to SV Amerilies and worked with Jef on making ends on a cable he had. I got what I needed and he got a longer cable with ends on it. Next up, I will cut our Starlink cable and put ends on it so that I can close the hole in the panel.

Getting the wires through and in the correct order and crimped was a royal pain! Between my essential tremors (my hands shake) and Reneé’s eyesight these two took a couple of hours to make.
The finished product!
