Make Me Laugh Again

We got up on time, had breakfast and Brian Coleman picked us up in his “tin boat” he took us to shore and we got a ride to the Music Festival in Mulege. Brian and his wife Lisa and their friend Brett. We watched the performers and drank beer from the Mulege Brewery and filled our growler to take back to the boat. The music was very good, the beer was fantastic! At the end of the day we did some grocery shopping then back to the boat, showers and bed.

Regarding videos on our blog, I tried a service. I was unable to make it work, when I tried contacting support, I found that the only support option was email.
I find that completely unsatisfactory.
I cancelled, (last night) and the money is going back on my card.
This morning I received an email from “Josh the happiness engineer” (BTW – ALL of the emails have (Action Required) in the subject line.
After three email exchanges, I told the happiness engineer that I was done, and the next email gets blocked as spam.

After a less than pleasant way to start my day, all of the emails I mentioned before were before 7 am my time. We got up and got about our day, There is another Island Packet here, it is an IP485 SV OKISOLLO with Dan & Jeannie Blair. We stopped by and chatted for a bit and invited them to come over for a tour and a game. They have been sailing for about 35 years, all over the world and are preparing for a circumnavigation to start next year. When they came over we played a couple of rounds of Mexican Train (dominos) and showed them Qwirkle both good games for a couple, or up to 6 to 8 people.

We got underway at 8:30 headed for Santispac. Winds ranged from 22-35 knots. There was a very small weather window that would work for sailing but we didn’t put the sails up…didn’t trust the weather to be consistent. Despidida also traveled to Santispac. We arrived around 1:30 and anchored in 30’ of water. There seems to be a dozen other boats here and many RVs. Very peaceful and calm.

We looked at the weather and the date. Weather said we wanted protection from westerlies. The date said we needed to hurry to Santispac to arrange a ride for the music festival on 3/9. We decided to go to Chivato then to Santispac but then spoke with Jim and Pat in MV Despedida and they were anchored at Bahía el Burro on the east side of Isla San Marcos. We decided to join them. They invited us for dinner. It took us a bit to get there because the plug was stuck in the dinghy. They served a wonderful baked pasta dinner.
This was an example of the best laid plans… the weather “prediction” had been for a calm night…. At 12:30 AM that changed and we had a very rolly night from then on. This was the first night that Jim and Pat had anchored out overnight. A “GREAT” introduction!

We left Santa Rosalia (1015 am) for Island San Marcos…~20 mi away. We parked in Sweet Pea Cove (1230 pm). This cove is on the NW side of the island. It looks like a fabulous place to snorkel but thinking the water is too cold, we didn’t go in. We relaxed and enjoyed a wonderful tamale dinner (tamales from the Con Juanito market, in Santa Rosalia). They are so good…explains why they sell out by 8:30 am each morning. After trying twice to get them in the afternoon, the shopkeeper said he’d hold some for me. I bought 4 early on Monday.

At dusk I went on deck to put out the Lucy lights and pick up my bait. There was a fish on my hook! It wasn’t more than 7-8” long and at dark I was in no mood to filet it. Neil helped me remove the hook and throw it back.
