Today we ran around getting the items we needed/wanted to buy for the boat.
We were so happy that the beer group was available to come over to the Miller’s for a corn beef and cabbage dinner.

The morning on the bus was not off to a good start. At 5:55am, the bus broke down. We were on a different bus by 7:20, and off the bus at 7:30 for another passport check. We’re still over an hour south of Ensenada.
Wednesday- public transportation day
We spent the last night on the ABC bus traveling from Santa Rosalia to Tijuana. We arrived in Downtown Tijuana at about 10:30 am.
We took a taxi to the border. We walked across the border. We took a trolley to American Plaza (near the Santa Fe train station). We ate a delicious lunch at Karl Strauss brewery. We took the coaster train north to Carlsbad. The Millers picked us up at the station.
After a nap we went to church at Community Lutheran for a Lenten service. It’s always nice to see the lovely people at that church.

I went over to SV Exlir2 to assist Phillip with figuring out stuff on his boat. They are new boaters, they bought the boat about a year ago in La Paz. Their boat was at the Cortez marina when the hurricane hit. They had significant damage. Three estimates, 1 just walk away, the other two said it could be fixed. No insurance. I was there about 3 hours. Reneé and Karen went shopping. Afterwards, we worked on getting ready to take the bus north. Mid afternoon Karen and Phillip (Elixer2) invited us to dinner at Tercos.
We got on our bus on time (7 pm) and headed north.
We didn’t sleep well. We had to disembark 3 times to show our passports to the Mexican Military. The bus broke down at around 5am and we had to switch buses. All in all a difficult trip.

We were able to get the water tank filled. We took a walk to stretch our legs. While in town we met Phillip and Karen. They had just filled their propane tank. They asked for a restaurant recommendation. We suggested Tercos or the China restaurant next to the highway. We started to wash the boat but the security guard told us there wasn’t enough water so we had to stop.
Phillip borrowed our Diesel cans to fill up his two tanks. After dinner (Chinese leftovers) we went up to the Padre Santo Brewery for some good beer and a game of Mexican Train. Players – Nick and Andrea (SV Fantasea), Phillip and Karen (SV Elixer2), and us.

After breakfast and a North Coast sermon Neil got the water maker going. Unfortunately the water pressure stopped just after 2:30. We will try again tomorrow.
Reneé did her favorite job, polishing the stainless steel rails.
We walked to the Chinese restaurant for dinner. We took half our meal home as leftovers.
