Friday November 25, 2022 Paradise Village – Punta de Mita

(posted 12/24/22)

Up at 7, breakfast bible study, the net, and get started on the LIST, we topped off the water tank, and mounted the auto deploy device for the life raft. Then at the end of a rather long day we left the marina and motored across to Punta de Mita at the north west end of Banderas Bay. This is the beginning of our long trip north.

Up at 7, breakfast, bible study, the net (didn’t work) and I defrosted the fridge and freezer. Reneé made a grocery run. We went to Pancho’s taco shop for dinner then the grocery store. We got a cab back for the three of us. Then bed.

There is an iguana in the middle of this picture that we saw on river tour.
This will give you an idea of the size slip we were in. Our boat at 45 feet on deck is about 53 feet long overall.

Up at 7:30 or so. We have a big day planned, John Pounder is coming to work on the GPS antenna’s, Richard Marine Service is delivering a bronze Exhaust Mixing elbow for the generator. John and Laura are flying out this afternoon, Bob Griffith is coming in. I have to work on the bow and stern lights (they did not come on the last time we turned them on. Laundry has to go in and get picked up. The life raft auto deploy device needs to be installed. We should run the water maker to fill the tank.

We listened to the net, had breakfast and did our bible reading.

So, at the end of the day, John and Laura got back to California, Bob got here, John replaced one of the batteries, (the rest are sealed units) I replaced the bow light, and fixed the stern light, the exhaust mixing elbow will get here tomorrow, the propane tank got in, the laundry got done, and life goes on.

At dusk, Bob and I took a dinghy ride up the river. We got showers and then bed.

Tuesday November 22, 2022 La Cruz to Paradise Village

(posted 12/23/22)

Up at 7, a very quiet night. Breakfast, bible reading and the net. We played a game of Mexican Train then after lunch we went sailing (not much wind) and finally tied up at Paradise Village by 4 pm. We started the water maker and Reneé took John and Laura to the office to get them a map and show them around a bit. I plan to run the water maker for a couple of hours, then after dinner we will take a cocktail cruise up into the river to see the sights and then bed.

Well, we forgot that the sun sets about 6:30pm, and it was dark by the time we were done with dinner. So, we got showers and played a game of “May I”, (probably Reneé’s favorite game). Finishing up by about 11 pm. Then bed.

Up at 7, again a pretty rolly night. Plans are breakfast bible reading, then ashore to hike to the waterfall, lunch will be a picnic. Then back to the boat by 5 or so, and left overs for dinner.  This was a very long day, both waterfalls, and finally back aboard by 4:00 and off the mooring ball by 4:30, we ran across the bay and saw a trash bag floating then anchored in the dark at the La Cruz anchorage at about 8 pm.
