Up at 7, breakfast and off to church on time. Great message on God being there and getting “it” done, not necessarily our way. Then brunch with a bunch of people at Brenda’s (actually a different name, but the owner is Brenda who used to be a cook at Rhythm and Blues. Followed by a stop at a couple of stores then back for a nap and pool time. We headed to the Adult pool, but it was roped off, then to the kids pool and followed by a text that said the cruisers were headed to the Lap pool so we moved over there. Finally back to the boat, dinner and after it cooled down we folded up the canopy. When we were getting off the boat, one of the security guards was walking by and pointed out in the water to see a crocodile swimming by and he also warned us about a bee issue on one of the boats between us and the showers.
Finally back to the boat and bed.

Up at 7 am, breakfast and Gareth was here by about 8 am. More work on the aft AC unit. Reneé took down the forward part of the canopy so she can hang laundry out to save some money on going to the laundromat. Jodie came by to get a quick tour and get rid of her excess groceries (she is flying home soon).

Gareth and his apprentice finished cleaning the aft AC unit, and have determined it needs some freon (which is type 407C and he doesn’t have it with him (neither do we).So, he will get some and come another time. The thermal overload is bad, and a new on is on order. Which means we won’t run it until we get it installed, but we bypassed it to test the unit. The above was written about noon, this turned in to a very long day. Gareth flushed all three AC units, and two out of three are working much better than they were, the aft unit also got a plumbing snake up the discharge hose for the water which improved flow considerably. At this point it still didn’t have a thermal overload. Somewhere in the process of flushing the forward unit, it stopped working. Gareth spent about 5 hours troubleshooting the problem and then moved the overload from the forward unit to the one in our stateroom as the forward one is still broken. Finally he was done for the day at about 1030 pm. A very long day for all of us. Final status, Aft AC working very well, Salon AC working very well, forward AC not working.
We headed off and got showers and went to bed.

Up at 7, and get organized, Gareth is supposed to be here at 8 to work on the AC. He arrived at about 9 am. We had time to do our bible reading. Reneé is heading to the aqua aerobics. I will stay here and support the work. Some of the cleaning got done, but not all.

I have approved the estimate and work is supposed to start on Monday for the generator.

We left at 1 pm to join Larry and Val Ball to go out for her Birthday. We went to El Rio BBQ Bar. We had ribs (huge, tender fantastic!) and listened to a guy on a flute and and another guy on electric guitar, very good music.

Then back to the boat, showers and bed.

Dinner, the ribs were fantastic!

Up at 7, breakfast, the net and organize for the day. Plans include

      • Arrange flight for my friend Bob
      • laundry,
      • Installing the DVD player for the aft stateroom,
      • baking a loaf of bread,
      • getting together with Danny and Robin from SV All Set For Now.
      • Then the Potluck.

A pretty busy day for us.

I spoke with Tom from MasPower this morning about installing the generator. All of this by 9 am.

No estimate yet about the generator.

Well everything we had planned happened, some good news some not so good. Our friend Danny is doing well following his brain tumor/surgery etc. Robin has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is going for a lumpectomy soon. Oh, and they hired a captain to move their boat to La Cruz and back for bottom paint, on the way back there was something wrong and the engine seized, and they were towed back to La Cruz, they are having issues finding a replacement engine. No insurance for the medical or the engine.

Then the potluck, nothing special there just about 20 people having a good time over dinner. Followed by showers and bed.

The estimate for the generator came in late, as expected it “ain’t cheap, it’s a boat”.

Up at 7 breakfast and the Net. Reneé is going to the Bible study at church and I am waiting for the guy to look at our generator. So, the guy who was supposed to be here did not show. I called the next two guys I had recommendations for, and 1 of them showed up at about 3 pm. They left at about 6 pm, they are done testing to convince themselves that the generator needs to be replaced, they said they will get an estimate to us possibly today, and could start work on Monday. There were 3 guys. I am pretty happy with how it looked today, they showed up in uniforms (rarely seen in Mexico) and were very professional about what they were doing.
After we wrapped everything up after dinner we took a walk down to the beach and it was good to stretch my legs. We ran in Jodie, and chatted with her a bit then back to the boat, showers and bed. I set up the portable battery charger for the generator start battery.
