June 1-3, 2020 Puerto Peñasco; Day 5 – 7 of Quarantine

We have had a few very quiet days, with some rough nights thrown in. We have asked about going in and the answer is always NO, not unless the weather is much worse than what we are experiencing. Our days follow a pattern, we get up around 7 am, listen to the Net, have breakfast and do our devotions. Then lay around and do almost nothing, except read and pass the time. On Sunday we listened to a couple of sermons.

Today, we were told that we could go into the port tomorrow and Friday, but have to come back out on Saturday. We were also told that when we haul out we have to leave that day. This is really not what we wanted to hear, as we have work to get done here on the boat. We are still verifying that, and at this point we may seriously consider moving to San Carlos, where the restrictions are not nearly so stiff.

Well, here we are at the end of another day anchored outside. We swam for a bit, got a delivery of groceries, talked to Salvador from the boat yard, confirmed that the way it is now we are supposed to leave immediately after haul out, and that there is a meeting tonight with the port captain and the safety committee.

In the meantime, I have gotten rates for haul out and working on the boat in San Carlos. Comparable to here (Puerto Peñasco), and they only want a two day heads up for haul out. We can stay in the city while working on the boat, and no quarantine prior to haul out. Tonight is movie night.

We do have room for guests, if anyone is interested in visiting and spending a week or so with us, drop us a line and we will coordinate. What you have to do/have is you need a passport and will need to be able to get to where we are when you are going to be down. When we know what time frame you are thinking about we can let you know where we expect to be so that you can make your travel arrangements.
