Make Me Laugh Again

Monday January 3, 2022, La Cruz

Up at 7 am, I have a few minutes to work on the blog before breakfast. Then of course we will listen to the net and do our bible reading. After which Reneé will get back on the computer. Last week, she made a mistake and all of her messages disappeared from her email and her note pad, on her iPhone and iPad. 3 calls to Apple and 2 calls to Google later and she finally found them all 126,034 in her trash. That means she has up to 30 days to recover these messages. There doesn’t seem to be an easy way to put them all back where they were (she and I both looked online for such a command), so she has been going through them and recovering some and deleting permanently some and she is down to about 65,000 messages. This can only be done on a computer that is connected to the internet and it takes time. We of course only connect to the internet by tethering to a hotspot (one of our phones). Sometimes that is not very fast, one of the ‘perks’ of being in Mexico. In any case, what she is doing takes priority over the blog.

So, Reneé was busy in the galley, and she said, something is wrong with the water. Well, we ran out of water about 4 pm, and so I started the water maker and we will run it for a few hours tonight and then again on Thursday so that we are full when we have guests, at least to start the trip.

Sunday January 2, 2022, La Cruz

We got up and had breakfast then out the door and up the bus for church. Great message (as usual) then we walked to the Rhythm and Blues Cafe for 2nd breakfast/lunch . They have a good breakfast buffet, and a 3 piece band that plays blues. We went with the group of people from church.

Then we walked up to the main road and caught the bus. We went to the store and bank then back to the boat, a quiet afternoon then out for dinner. The first restaurant The Black Forrest Cafe (German food) requires a reservation on Sunday nights, so we walked over to Falconi’s Italian restaurant and had a fabulous dinner. We walked quite a bit today, over 10,000 steps again for me. We finished the day with a game of rummy.

Saturday January 1, 2022, La Cruz, New Years Day

Happy New Year!!

We slept in until almost 8:30. Listened to the net, had breakfast read the Bible and we will see what else we do as there is nothing on the agenda.. it was a pretty quiet day. We did take a bus ride up to Punta de Mita about a half hour west of La Cruz. We walked around and had lunch then back to the boat and we ended the day with a movie.

Friday December 31, 2021, La Cruz, New Years Eve

We got up and our morning routines. One difference, I took a shower in the forward shower this morning, we have guests coming next week and I want to make sure it works and all the lines get flushed out for clean water etc. Over all a pretty quiet day until 5:30 pm. Which was when Steve and Deny Pepper, and a couple of their friends came over from Paradise Village. We had reservations at the Treehouse restaurant for dinner. We enjoyed the company. By a little after 10 pm, they decided to head back to PV. Traffic, and oh yeah we are all cruisers and our normal bed time is when the sun goes down.

Reneé and I stayed and listened to the second set of music, the first was a single guy on a violin very good music, the second was a cuban band also very good. Around 11 we headed back to the boat and dropped off some stuff and walked out to the breakwater to watch the fireworks around the bay. While there we ran into several people we had met here in the marina. Finally back on the boat by about 12:30. Off to bed.

We were sitting behind the balloons, but it looked like S.S.O.S. which doesn’t look good for next year!

Thursday December 30, 2021, La Cruz

We got up and did our morning routines, bible reading, and the net. Then the guys came to work on the sails again. When they were done George and Helen and their three kids (18-15) came down to go sailing. We went out and saw a couple of whales right out side the marina, and then sailed for an hour out and then back and motored back into our slip then they took us out for dinner at La Cruz Inn.
