Make Me Laugh Again

Up at 7, Reneé is making cinnamon rolls for the Bible study tomorrow. Then breakfast, the net, Bible reading and put up the canopy on the back of the boat.

Reneé polished the stainless steel before we put up the canopy. That is hot work. Somewhere in there we made arrangements to have the boat hauled in October and get the bottom painted.  An expense that has to be done every 3 or 4 years.

We also got another invite to go to the movies with a stop at Home Depot to get a hose we need for the water maker. The one we ordered from Amazon Mexico wasn’t delivered correctly (we ordered a 1/2” ID/ 5/8” OD and what we got is 1/2” OD. Way too small, not enough time to straighten out, so we will just go buy one at Home Depot. (I hope they have it).

So, we had a misunderstanding about the movie, the one we were headed to was in Spanish without subtitles. So, we rescheduled at another theater across town. This gave us a couple of hours. So, we made a Sam’s club and Walmart run, then we went to Las Muertos brewery. We shared a Pizza and had some great beer. Then back to the movie. We stopped at Home Depot and got everything on our list. Finally back to the boat showers and bed.

Up at about 7:30, breakfast, the net and Bible reading.

We moved the paddle boards from outside the rails (lifelines) on the port side to inside the rails on the starboard side and tied them down. This is to remove them from temptation and easy theft. The port side is where the dock is, and the paddle boards were accessible from the dock.

Then we hung the lines for the dinghy hoist near the Dalits. John was back, and finished up his work on our boat for the season. He is flying out Wednesday. He didn’t rewire the speakers in the salon, nor the ones in the cockpit, and a wire connector to the SiriusXM adapter got broken (which for this big of a project is actually amazing). This was the only thing that broke. He will do the speakers and the SiriusXM adapter in the fall. We got his bill, which when added to the others shows this total job was about $8,500.

I have figured out how to control almost everything connected to our charge systems from the internet. This means I can check it anytime and anywhere that I have internet, if there’s an issue I can fix it on line. This is what I wanted!

While investigating all the controls and reading about it on the internet, I found that it is relatively easy to add tank level monitoring to the system, and that we would be able to monitor our tanks from our phones or the display or the internet. I have more investigation to do, but it appears to be about the same cost as replacing our current tank level monitoring system that is not working, and we had planned on replacing anyway.

Oh and we found out that our new dinghy made it to Tijuana as well, and should be here on 6/27. (We fly out on 6/28).

We went to the pool at 4, and happy hour, then back to the boat for dinner showers and bed.

Up at 7 ish, breakfast and off the boat to catch the bus and head to church. After church we went to lunch at Karen’s restaurant in Bucerias. Then we did some shopping and took the bus back to the boat. John had finished for the day, and said he was done in the aft lazarette. So, we put things away. While we were working on that, Mike from S/V Brightnest walked by and we invited them over for a game or movie. They had dinner first and we got showers and then Mike and Jenifer came over about 8 pm and we played a couple of rounds of Mexican Train.

Up at 7:15, did not hear the alarm this morning, nor the coffee pot saying it was done making coffee, but we got up and around. Breakfast and the net, then bible reading. Reneé took the laundry up to wash clothes. John is due back down here later to continue working on the wiring.
John walked for an hour or so, then he was gone. He will be back tomorrow.
In the evening, we went out to dinner with Curt and Jill from S/V Namahana, they drove and we went to a Vietnamese restaurant down in Puerto Vallarta.

Up at 7:30 or so. Breakfast and the net, then bible reading. At 9:45 we went over to help with a valve on S/V All Set For Now, Danny and Robin, he is the one who had a brain tumor removed recently. He is still not allowed to be left alone for fear of seizures, so she had to coordinate having help with him while I helped with the valve on the boat. He is doing very well, up and walking/talking etc. He is having issues with coarse motor skills, like throwing a ball etc. but he is getting better.

After that back to the boat and watching as John continued with the electrical work on the boat. By the time he left we had one of the panels in service and charging the battery.

Reneé and I put the canopy on the forward part of the boat, we are waiting on the after canopy for the final electrical work on the arch.

At about 4:30 while Reneé had some beans cooking (hot water, stove off) we went to the lap pool for a dip and then back to the boat for dinner showers and a movie (Airplane).
