Make Me Laugh Again

Up at 7, Breakfast the net and off to the Bible study. Then lunch at Brenda’s and the pool party and a quick trip back to the boat. Dinner and off to game night. It is a busy life being retired on a boat!

There was about 20 of us for the Bible study, which was the third in a series presented by the YWAM group. Then off ot the pool party with about 15 people, the guys played pool and the ladies swam.

Later we went to game night with the cruisers, there were 5 of us playing Mexican train then Dave and Michele arrived late which gave us 7. We only broke one chair. These chairs are not the most sturdy chairs, we have broken 3 or 5 of them this summer. We of course shared tequila and snacks. We finally got back to the boat, showers and bed at midnight.

Up at 7 am, breakfast and the net. Reneé ran a load of clothes then will head to Refuge of Hope. I am going to take one of our propane tanks in for a refill, and John Pounder is due at 10 to work on our radio and some other stuff. XM Radio fixed! John will be back on Thursday to work on speaker wiring.

Happy hour at the pool, then back to the boat for dinner and putting up the sails. Game night will be tomorrow night.

Up at 7:30 or so, breakfast and the net then off to aqua aerobics. I got a call from the contract company for Calloway in Missouri, the numbers are good, and I will be going back to work there starting January 3rd.

Today, I attempted to rebuild the forward vacu-flush pump. Discovering that I was missing a few parts. So, it runs “frequently”. The parts are available here in Mexico, but much more expensive here than in the states. Two O-rings at $28 in the US are $38 here, and the piston which is $95 in the US is $130 here. I am expecting to have it fail again during the year of no use in 2023, so I don’t think I will fix this until we get back in January 2024. So that adds to the list for repair then.

Up late, almost 8 am. Breakfast the net and bible reading. Then off to the store for supplies. While we were out we got carnitas to go at a little shop near Chedraui where we stopped for beer. Then back for lunch.

We went to the other end of the marina, which is about a half hour walk past the mall. This walk should be about 20 minutes, but the state has closed all public boat ramps, which means the gates to that section of the dock are locked and we have to walk around. No one is exactly sure why this happened, but the suspicion is some one is looking for more money.  In any case, when we got there we noted that all the boat from A dock have been moved. Everyone is adding lines and checking stuff on deck and around their boats to prepare for the hurricane. Which as of just now when I checked is going to go north of us.

We talked to Jeff (my nephew who is in prison) and my mother in California. Then off to the pool with the other cruisers. Reneé made refried beans today. We will have dinner and hang out on the boat tonight. Depending on the weather tomorrow we might not go to church, we will see in the morning.
