January 29th, 2025 Puerto Vallarta Wednesday (La Cruz Anchorage)

Up at 7 am, listened to the net, had breakfast, did our bible reading, and got organized. Reneé is going to a get together at Iris and Bob’s and we are taking the laundry in to get washed and folded.
A week’s worth of laundry for us cost about 370 pesos ($18). We debated waiting until Saturday when we will be in Paradise Village, but it would be about $12 more for the same service, and we have to bring the soap.
This meant we get the dinghy down and outboard mounted, then load all the laundry and cart into it, then head into the dock. This all took about 45 minutes to an hour. Then walk to the laundry. At this point Reneé walked up to the bus stop and I took the cart back to the dinghy and back to the boat. I was working on my lunch at 1150. So, the morning activity from time we were done with breakfast until I was back on the boat was about 2 1/2 hours. Of course, I have to mention, I dropped my reading glasses between the dinghy and the dock. We haven’t been back to the boat a month and two pair down. One I sat on, the other went swimming.
After lunch I went through the forward starboard space. This is behind the settee, and down. It has the most expensive spare parts. The value I put down is my estimate of what they are worth.

Now, I am back to just working on getting better. I will meet Reneé at the laundry at 5.
On the way into the marina, I saw a whale, so I stopped my dinghy, got out my phone and took a video of it. Unfortunately, the site I use for the blog doesn’t do video well. So, it’s on facebook. If you don’t see it and want to, send me a message, I will send it to you separately.
We were early for the laundry, so we sat in the park for about 15 minutes. Got the laundry and then back to the boat.
After cleaning up, and putting away we had dinner and showers then watched a movie.
The base for the movie was very good, THE MINISTRY OF UNGENTLEMANLY WARFARE, but 1/2 the actors phoned in their parts, or were just stereotypical cardboard cutouts. The CG was way below expectations. Etc. this movie was basically THE basis of all the James Bond books and movies. Ian Fleming was one of the characters, and he based James on the leader of the rest of the cast. The potential for a really good movie was there and thrown away. IMDB score 6.8 so, maybe it’s just me.
Finally bed.

Tacos! It’s whats for lunch!

January 28th, 2025 Puerto Vallarta Tuesday (La Cruz Anchorage)

Went to bed at 8:30 pm, awake at 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 2:00, 4:00 and 5:30. Then slept until almost 8 am. Yeah, I am not taking that stuff again.
Reneé is pretty much done with her cold. I spent the day doing as little as possible.

A nice view of the city
A humpback whale
Our smiling faces
A place to get supplements.

January 27th, 2025 Puerto Vallarta Monday (La Cruz Anchorage)

Reneé was up about 6:30, I slept in until 8:20 and we think we are both feeling better. We listened to the net at 8:30.
We spent the day doing a whole bunch of nothing.
The generic NyQuil wasn’t what I was looking for. Pretty fitful sleep, awake pretty often. I looked up the ingredients for what we got at the pharmacy. The pharmacist was correct this was exactly the same as ZzzNyQuil, not the old fashioned stuff. It’s supposed to cause drowsiness, and work on the symptoms. I will try again.

We went into town, did some shopping and had lunch, then back to the boat. Sometimes physical exercise helps me feel better, but not this time.

Lots of fish

January 26th, 2025 Puerto Vallarta Sunday (La Cruz Anchorage)

Up at 7 am, dinghy down and off to church and shopping. We stopped at the market then back to the boat. Lots of sleep and feeling pretty yucky.

I wanted some nyquil, but the local pharmacy doesn’t carry it, so I got the generic “Difenhidramina 25 mg” which sounds horrible… except “Zzzquil” is difenhidramina 25 mg tablets. Unfortunately I don’t interact with all drugs the same as most other people, this is supposed to make you drowsey, well I slept pretty good for about 2 hours, then wide awake and restless for about 3 hours (11 pm to 2 am), finally back to sleep until about 6:30 the back to bed for a couple of hours. I think I might be past the worst of it.

Reneé is feeling pretty good, which is an improvement. We have reservations for Paradise Village for Jan 31st – Feb 4th.
When our friends from Iowa get here (Feb 2nd) we will be in the marina.

No pictures today

January 25th, 2025 Puerto Vallarta Saturday (La Cruz Anchorage)

Up at 7, showers, then breakfast at the inn. They only do breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. Very good!
Out of the hotel and back to the boat. We have a folding cart, it makes all the moves easier. This morning was just one trip, with all of our laundry for the week. Once in the yard at the boat, I went up, Reneé stayed with the cart. I lowered a line she tied it onto a bag, backpack or the cart, I pulled it up and we repeated until everything was up.she went and paid our bill.
Now we wait to go back in the water, we have a scheduled splash time of 1230. We might be early.
Boat up at 11am. In the water by 1115!
We were back in the anchorage with anchor down and engine off by 1 pm.
We are fighting colds, so we did not do much of anything else.

Headed back to the water.
Just another sunset
