Up at 7:50, yes we slept in. Breakfast and Bible reading, missed the net. Then off to Aqua-aerobics, at the end we got a call, and our dinghy was delivered by 1 pm.
There were 6 of us in Aqua-aerobics, and then we chatted for a half hour or so.
We had lunch then unpacked the dinghy, and got it up on the davits. That was a bunch of work. It did not help that it was over 90 degrees, and very humid. After getting it up on the davits, we went back on the boat. I put my clothes on the lines to dry, and 3 hours later, they are still wet.
Tonight we are having BBQ beef, this is what we got at church on Sunday for Fathers day.
Our new dinghy in the bagReneé is playing with the new dinghyOur new dinghy up on the davits. The chaps and cover will be made in August
Up at 7, breakfast bible reading and the net. Then Reneé headed off to Refuge of Hope. She worked with a 10 year old boy who has had basically no schooling, can’t read can’t do any math etc. She plans to work with him some more when we come back in the fall.
I cleaned strainers, and started cleaning the speed probe, for now it is soaking in vinegar. Then I attempted to put the hose on the water maker that I had bought. (Hoses 2, Neil 0) the one we got off of Amazon Mexico was too small, this one we got at Home Depot was too big. Oh well!
Then I worked on the camera, success! I am cable to get it to work over the local area network, and over the internet! So, I will be able to check the bilge from the states.
When Reneé got back I wrapped up what I was working on and took the bus back to Home Depot to get the right hose. When I got back from there I put it on! (Hoses 2, Neil WON!)
Getting ready for the BBQ, I made Mango Margaritas (Thank you Dave Traut easy recipe, 1 shot Grand Marnier, 2 shots of Margarita mix and 3 shots of Tequila then add a bunch of frozen Mango chunks and blend).
I made three of them and split it between our two water bottles.
BBQ and Pot Luck at the Palapa near A dock at 6 pm with the other cruisers.
At the BBQ, we met Brian and the rest of his crew from S/V Delos. He arrived today, completing his circumnavigation. They left La Cruz (across the bay from us) in 2010. They are sailing celebrities with a YouTube channel with 795,000 subscribers, and are listed in Wikipedia.

These are some of the kids that Reneé helps at Refuge of HopeThis was the potluck at the Palapa, 14 adults and I think 4 kids under the age of about 5. We have met some of these cruisers before, one family was in the boat yard at PEñASCO two years ago, the wife was pregnant, and now they have two kids.A crab that was trying to crash our party. This is Brian from S/V Delos. He and crew left from Seattle in 2009, and then from La Cruz in 2010. They returned to Banderas Bay today. They have a YouTube channel, with 795,000 subscribers. Somewhat of a celebrity in the sailing world. https://www.youtube.com/c/svdelosThis is the stern of S/V Delos
Up at 7ish. Breakfast, and off the boat by 8:30 to catch the bus to the Bible study. After the study we went to lunch with Val and Larry at Jorge’s. Then to the pool party.
We headed back to the boat by 4 pm. Two bus rides (crowded) and we were back. Reneé made cookies for tomorrow’s pot luck and I checked on status for the dinghy (in route) the life raft (due back to Mike this weekend)j our mainsail (due back with the Life Raft on Monday)
This was our last bible study and pool party here for the season. It will be missed.
We have a bit of a leak at the mast (yes it was raining HARD!)Our friend at the bathroom about to disappear in to the drain pipe (this might be off the roof?)
Up at 7, Reneé is making cinnamon rolls for the Bible study tomorrow. Then breakfast, the net, Bible reading and put up the canopy on the back of the boat.
Reneé polished the stainless steel before we put up the canopy. That is hot work. Somewhere in there we made arrangements to have the boat hauled in October and get the bottom painted. An expense that has to be done every 3 or 4 years.
We also got another invite to go to the movies with a stop at Home Depot to get a hose we need for the water maker. The one we ordered from Amazon Mexico wasn’t delivered correctly (we ordered a 1/2” ID/ 5/8” OD and what we got is 1/2” OD. Way too small, not enough time to straighten out, so we will just go buy one at Home Depot. (I hope they have it).
So, we had a misunderstanding about the movie, the one we were headed to was in Spanish without subtitles. So, we rescheduled at another theater across town. This gave us a couple of hours. So, we made a Sam’s club and Walmart run, then we went to Las Muertos brewery. We shared a Pizza and had some great beer. Then back to the movie. We stopped at Home Depot and got everything on our list. Finally back to the boat showers and bed.
We went to the movies (we saw Top Gun Maverick) with our friends Val and Larry from churchWe got the canopy up
Up at about 7:30, breakfast, the net and Bible reading.
We moved the paddle boards from outside the rails (lifelines) on the port side to inside the rails on the starboard side and tied them down. This is to remove them from temptation and easy theft. The port side is where the dock is, and the paddle boards were accessible from the dock.
Then we hung the lines for the dinghy hoist near the Dalits. John was back, and finished up his work on our boat for the season. He is flying out Wednesday. He didn’t rewire the speakers in the salon, nor the ones in the cockpit, and a wire connector to the SiriusXM adapter got broken (which for this big of a project is actually amazing). This was the only thing that broke. He will do the speakers and the SiriusXM adapter in the fall. We got his bill, which when added to the others shows this total job was about $8,500.
I have figured out how to control almost everything connected to our charge systems from the internet. This means I can check it anytime and anywhere that I have internet, if there’s an issue I can fix it on line. This is what I wanted!
While investigating all the controls and reading about it on the internet, I found that it is relatively easy to add tank level monitoring to the system, and that we would be able to monitor our tanks from our phones or the display or the internet. I have more investigation to do, but it appears to be about the same cost as replacing our current tank level monitoring system that is not working, and we had planned on replacing anyway.
Oh and we found out that our new dinghy made it to Tijuana as well, and should be here on 6/27. (We fly out on 6/28).
We went to the pool at 4, and happy hour, then back to the boat for dinner showers and bed.
So, what is important here is what is missing. The little thing hanging down from the horizontal bar (spreader, about 15 feet up from the deck) is a pulley that should have a string through it for holding a flag. It will require a trip up the mast to rethread it.One of our neighbors, right before it went for a swim
