Up at 6:30, breakfast then we worked on sails. We got the Staysail down and folded, then the Jib wow is that a bunch of work. We got it down on deck then bundled up and over to the dock where we opened it back up and then folded it and rolled it up. By that time, the wind had started to come up and we elected to do the mainsail tomorrow. I gave the gasoline to another cruiser, now I just have the two cycle gasoline to get rid of. After lunch we had 20+ knots of wind, so we are working on stuff inside and we are going to take the laundry in. We did our bible reading after lunch.
The laundry got in and the Hornbacks came in on SV Catharpin Blue. We saw Kevin, he came in with their dog and took him for a walk and we went to the restaurant Tortugas for dinner with the cruisers in the area.
Then back to the boat wind down and go to bed.

Up at 6:30, breakfast and bible reading then turn the boat around and wash it. Wow was it salty!! We have not really washed it since Puerto Vallarta. The only problem here is that there is virtually no water pressure. If someone else opens a spigot, that is it no water for us. So, somewhat slow going. We washed the deck and cockpit and the dinghy we started at about 8 am and finished, sort of, by 2 pm, with a break for lunch in there.
Jessica and Chris stopped by and we chatted a bit, they are on a 10 day fast, only drinking water. There is a cruisers net at 8 am on channel 74, we got part of it yesterday, and missed it today. We have joined the WhatsApp chat group and plan to attend the Thursday get together.

Up at 6:15 or so. It’s very calm this morning. We will get diesel to fill the tank before going into our slip.
We had breakfast and did our bible reading. Then got underway. We stopped at the fuel dock and got 95 gallons for about $500. Then into our slip. We got situated and contacted 
Allan Smith who will be coordinating our work here in San Carlos. He showed up about 10 am, and we went over the work to be done. This included have an electrical guy come down and set up a date for him to come back and do the electrical work on Friday. We will be taking the anchor out and rinsing the chain today, probably washing the boat as well. After the anchor is back aboard we will turn the boat around and put shore power on with the boat backed in. That may not happen until tomorrow morning. There is typically no wind first thing in the morning.
After Allan and Salvadore left we had lunch. I have to get to the office and tell them Salvadore will be on the boat on Friday.
Tonight, I need to update the blog, I just checked I have not uploaded since April 26th. So, it will take an hour or so.
We eventually had water on the dock. We had both anchors and all rode on the dock also the 1” (or 1 1/4”) tow rope extra anchor line approximately 300 ft, clean apparently unused, on deck then washed out the anchor locker. The drain line, of course, was plugged. So, we had to tear apart the forward stateroom to get to the drain, I was able to blow it out with the vacuum cleaner.
Then let it dry out for a while, and put it all away.
We have a check list for all of the stuff that we have to do. We checked off a few things today. Tomorrow morning we will turn the boat around and hook up shore power, after we wash the outside of the boat.

Well, that was not a very good night’s sleep! The wind was not really high maybe 12-15 knots, and the swells were 1-2 feet, but the wind was from the west, and the swells from the south. The wind kept the boat sideways to the swells, which made for a very rolley night. We watched the weather, checking a variety of apps, and listened to the cruisers net (channel 74 at 8 am). I moved to the settee in the middle of the night. Our bed is at an angle, but is basically across the beam of the boat, so as we rolled we were head up then down. The settee runs the same direction as the keel, so with the rolls it’s more like rocking. We had breakfast and did our bible reading in the morning. After lunch we moved from Lalo cove to the marina.
Our first thought on hearing which slip we were going to was, great! It is near the end of the first dock as you enter the marina. But, when we approached it there was a current and significant wind. It also appeared to be too narrow for us. So, we went back to the anchorage near the marina.
We anchored near SV Blue Pearl a 65 foot ketch, a beautiful boat. Jessica and Chris, we met in Puerto Penasco several years ago. They are just putting their boat up for sale.
They are scheduled to take our slip a couple of days after we haul out. When they heard we were concerned about the size of the slip he got down his dinghy (15 ft, 30 hp center console – big) to go in and measure as their boat is bigger than ours. I rode in with him we measured and realized it was plenty big enough just the 54’ boat next to it was being blown away from the dock at the stern so it looked narrow at the opening of the slip. We went to the office as Chris also wanted to pay for his slip and yard time coming up etc. I checked us in, got gate keys etc. we also coordinated with the office, and they will take our slip the day we leave rather than several days later. On the way back we used the depth gauge on his dinghy to explore options for getting into this slip.
Afterwards, we went back to our boats and checked the wind, we decided to try again in the morning.
We watched a movie after dinner, it was a very calm night.

Up 6 am or so, breakfast and then at 8 am we watched the service from Gracepoint in Savannah. Today was a bit windy, and rolley.
Later we watched two of our grandkids in a play about Jonah on line. Very well done!!
Other than that, it is our last rest day before the month of work begins.
