1/26/26 Topolobampo to Mazatlan, Mexico – Monday

The weather apps say we should have a good sail south to Mazatlan. I am not holding my breath, but we will see. I will have a call with my mom to make sure that her new iPad has updated with all of her files, then we will reset her old iPad. No wind, or not enough. We saw a shark, some dolphin, a few rays, and whales. As I said not much wind so we did not put the sails out at all.

1/25/26 Topolobampo, Mexico – Sunday

Up at about 7 am, tried to watch the message from Gracepoint church in Savannah at 10 am their time, but apparently no power or internet. So, we watched the sermon from North Coast church in Vista Calif. Much of the water has receded, and we were able to walk into town and had lunch on the Malecon, then back to the boat. We took off shore power and did our check out stuff so we can leave at 7 am tomorrow.
I spent a couple of hours helping my mother with her iPad. She had issues earlier this year with it and it was replaced under warranty. Now she is having issues with the home button and got it replaced again. BUT, someone has to transfer all the files from one device to the other. No body where she was had the time/energy/knowledge etc. to make it happen. So, this meant a couple of hours with Apple Support on a three way call with her. The first attempt failed after getting started, so we had to try again.

1/24/26 Topolobampo, Mexico – Saturday

This is a rest day, we slept in till about 7 atm then breakfast and clean up from the rain. There were pictures from Cabo on Facebook, and we heard about the situation in Savannah, Tennessee. Power outages and Internet outages etc. The trees in Savannah are “exploding” from the ice on the branches. We had dinner on the Malecon. We got a ride there from one of the guys here in the marina, as the road was flooded.

1/23/26 San Carlos to Topolobampo, Mexico – Friday

We motored all day, we had expected some wind, but the most we saw was about 10 knots (on the nose) and that was only for about 10 minutes. We saw dolphin, and one shark, otherwise a very uneventful motorboat ride. The last two hours of the day was spent navigating up the channel to get to the marina. We arrived at the marina around 10 pm and backed into a slip and discovered it did not have power, so we looked at options and we moved the boat to one that did have power. Then we went to bed, a very long night.
